Julia Alvarez, MA

After spending 20 years in the social change sector as an AmeriCorps volunteer, youth educator, camp counselor, researcher, consultant, and executive director, Julia founded Point b(e) Strategies in an effort to build a company that centers its people, one that works with organizations that authentically listen to their communities, and one that contributes to building more equitable systems of wealth and power.

With expertise in strategic planning, facilitation, justice, equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and board and staff development, Julia loves partnering with clients to identify, articulate and start to solve the most pressing challenges they face. 

Julia has a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Kenyon College and a master’s degree in international peace studies from the U.N. mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica. When she’s not nerding out over board governance and strategic questions, you can find Julia serving on the board of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains or sleeping under the stars in hidden corners of Colorado with her husky, Dakota.
